Specialized Engineering Solutions (SES)

Project Description:

Altus contributed to the conversion of an outdated strip mall into a new, highly efficient office space for Specialized Engineering Solutions. This 10,000-square-foot remodel was designed to meet LEED Gold and energy star standards as well as provide an energetic work space for the company’s current and future staff.

During demolition, the wood studs were salvaged to be re-purposed into decorative wall panels and a conference table top. Industrial design was balanced with functional and acoustic needs. The ceilings were left exposed and painted a light, bright color to add volume to the open office area. Carpet tile lines the walk-ways for sound absorption while leaving the sealed concrete under the office chairs or durability.

Built-in-place workstations were designed by the users to meet all their functional requirements. The few offices provided have full glass fronts while the break-out spaces have light diffusing wall panels for privacy while still letting light in. While LED lighting was used throughout, several different types and layout highlight the capabilities of the engineering firm to their clients. An additional expansion to the existing office which adds an additional 9,400 square feet of functional office space for SES.
