The Anschutz Medical Campus expansion includes a 12-story, 700,000-square-foot tower that houses Critical Care, and Med/Surg beds, state of the art new operating rooms, diagnostic and treatment facilities, a large, substantial emergency department, educational components, various clinical and operational support services, offices, as well as skywalk connected parking garage.
The hospital directed this project to be LEED-certified. Xcel Energy expertise in created the most energy-efficient system possible for the facility. A lot of recycled materials were used in building components and finishes.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) helped complete the project on a fast track schedule.
Working with The University’s Design Review Board helped keep form and campus material aesthetics in tune with owner expectations and architects intent to design a new world class structure that fits the context of the site.
