OMAHA, Neb. (May 13, 2020) – Healthcare architecture and design firm Altus Architectural Studios, Inc. (Altus) announced today that Erik Austin, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, has accepted the role as Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Colorado office.
Austin is passionate about patient-centered care and using architectural design to create highly efficient and effective hospitals. This focus, along with his years of experience working with clients to find innovative solutions through design, brings added depth to the growing Altus team. Austin’s experience overseeing projects and making critical decisions relating to planning, design and budget will allow the firm to expand its presence throughout the Colorado region and continue the high-quality architectural planning and design work for which the firm is nationally known.

Austin clearly understands the nuances of healthcare architecture, having a long list of prestigious hospital clients in the Colorado region and beyond. Some of his clients include University of Colorado Health, Yale-New Haven Health System, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Carrie Hinshaw, AIA, LEED AP, Vice President and Director of Healthcare is looking forward to welcoming Austin to the Denver office, which will soon move to its new location at 112 N. Rubey Drive in Golden, Colo. “Our team is currently working on some large projects in the region, including a master plan implementation for UCHealth’s Poudre Valley Hospital, and numerous projects for Denver Health,” said Hinshaw. “It will be great to have someone with Erik’s experience here to help us manage our growing portfolio of work.”
Austin has 20 years’ experience specializing in healthcare design and planning, having most recently served as Director of Healthcare Design for The Beck Group’s Colorado Regional Office. He has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Design/Architectural Studies from Arizona State University.
