He has a comprehensive understanding of all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring that each step is executed with precision and creativity. Michael’s extensive experience includes successfully coordinating with large, complex clients and diverse user groups, as well as leading multidisciplinary project teams. His ability to navigate the complexities of both design and execution makes him a valuable asset in delivering projects that are not only functional but also visionary and aligned with client goals.

Evan Lamprecht

AIA, NCARB

With over a decade of healthcare design experience, Evan’s passion for architecture is founded in his ability to use design to improve the workflow and environment for staff, while implementing user-centered design strategies to create innovative spaces for students and faculty. Evan’s enthusiasm and positive attitude encourage open communication and collaboration through all phases of the planning and design process.

Carrie Hinshaw

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Carrie has over 20 years of experience in all phases of architecture, with a focus on healthcare design. Her specialties include patient unit, surgical suite, central sterile, emergency department, interventional radiology and radiology design. Carrie understands operational and staff flows and can assist the client in designing the right space. Carrie’s responsibilities include oversight of project implementation through each phase of development. Beginning with initial programming, she works directly with the client to establish goals and objectives and constantly monitors project process, schedules and budget requirements.

Dwayne Meyer

AIA, NCARB

Dwayne has 30 years of experience within the industry and more than 25 years specifically in healthcare architecture. His experience and responsibilities include all phases of the design and construction process, including programming, planning, client contact, project coordination, cost control, and scheduling. He has planned, directed, and monitored all aspects of large multi-discipline or medium-sized healthcare projects with a high degree of technical complexity. Dwayne has extensive experience in design development, architectural production, specification writing and construction contract administration.

Erik Austin

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C

Erik has dedicated more than two decades to healthcare design and planning. He collaborates closely with clients, contractors, and design team members to discover innovative solutions through teamwork and creative designs. Erik oversees managing client expectations, project planning and programming, the entire design process, consultant relationships, and construction administration for a diverse range of healthcare facilities. These include large-scale campus master plans as well as smaller hospital additions and renovations.

Erica Alfaro

ASSOCIATE AIA

Erica Alfaro brings six years of healthcare architectural experience to the Altus team, specializing in radiology and imaging spaces. She also spent four years in residential design while earning her Master’s Degree in Historical Preservation and Architecture. Erica enjoys the challenges of designing existing spaces and focuses on how design can enhance workflows, staff efficiency, and patient care.

Kyle Adamson

AIA

Kyle has over 20 years of design experience, with a decade focused on healthcare projects. He has played a key role in planning and designing various healthcare facilities, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical office buildings. With extensive experience in all design phases, Kyle has excelled as both a project architect and manager. His approach to each project and ability to build strong relationships ensure successful outcomes and client satisfaction.

Adam Bellamy

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Adam finds fulfillment in problem-solving and guiding projects from concept through construction, particularly in healthcare, education, corporate, and government facilities. With extensive experience as a designer, architect, project manager, and construction administrator, Adam leads interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. Outside of work, he’s passionate about traveling, exploring new places, and immersing himself in the world around him.​

Michelle Draschil

AIA, CDT, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB

Michelle has been working in healthcare architecture since 2013 and has a passion for combining the disciplines of architecture and kinesiology as a means to link the human experience with perception and movement through space. It is from this lens that Michelle approaches every design project.

By carefully analyzing the way the human body moves within and through space, Michelle is able to directly translate those insights to bring innovative and functional plans to life for her healthcare clients. The resulting spaces are not only more appealing visually, but also created for the maximum efficiency and flow required by today’s healthcare institutions.

When she isn’t creating amazing healthcare spaces, Michelle likes to recharge by hiking and photographing the Colorado landscape, and camping and biking with her husband. Her latest creative hobby involves exploring nature via a brush and acrylic paint.

Raymond Drzymala

Ray Drzymala took a circuitous route to architectural practice management, but once he discovered his natural ability to lead others and businesses to success, he never looked back. For more than a decade, Ray has been making a measurable difference in the business of healthcare architecture. As Managing Principal for Altus, Ray’s day-to-day includes managing the Denver office, responding to the needs of Altus clients across the nation, identifying business development opportunities and providing sound strategy and leadership for the entire organization.

As a child, Ray’s earliest aspirations were to become a physician or pediatrician. He grew up in Hawaii, which not only sparked his love of the outdoors but also provided the kind early work experience that builds real character. While serving on the production line of a pineapple factory, Ray learned the value of hard work, the importance of having a sharp knife, and an even sharper sense of humor.

After receiving a B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder he moved to Maui where he met his wife Deborah. Eventually, Ray’s creative leanings took him to New York City to study and work in the field of fashion design. While working full-time during the day, he obtained a second degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T) Moving back to Hawaii to be with family, he found himself in the Technology Industry working at Spirent Communications. In this role, his work took him around the world, opening offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Paris. His next stop was architecture business management and leadership, which has proven to be Ray’s true calling and passion.

Thinh Nguyen

AIA, EDAC, NCARB

Thinh is a healthcare architect and planner with 21 years of experience designing complex medical facilities. Known for his thoughtful and functional approach, Thinh blends visionary design with deep knowledge of building codes, life safety standards, and healthcare-specific regulations. His expertise spans hospitals, cancer treatment centers, medical office buildings, and ambulatory care facilities, ensuring solutions that meet client needs while fostering healing environments. Skilled in Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools, Thinh excels in both architectural development and collaborative project coordination.

Michael Goertzen

AIA, CDT, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB

Mike has nearly 40 years of experience designing and planning healthcare projects of all types, including hospital campus master plans, freestanding medical centers, replacement additions and complete departmental renovations with phasing. He has been designed numerous specialty hospitals and niche-specialty facilities across the United States. Mike has a deep understanding of the advancement in technology in architectural practice, along with the impact these advancements have on the real people who live, work, and play within the designed environment. He actively incorporates workflow processes capitalizing on the use of 3D imaging to test everyday design methodologies, schedules, and budget requirements.

Stephanie Hamilton

Stephanie Hamilton has been a familiar face at Altus for more than 15 years. As the office administrative assistant, there aren’t many things that she hasn’t helped manage and/or organize. Keeping the office running smoothly and being the go-to-person for questions of all kinds, Stephanie makes her big role at Altus look easy.

Stephanie has two high-school aged children. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with them and husband Mike at the lake.

Allisa Lacey

Associate AIA

Allisa has 10 years of architectural experience, 6 of which have been dedicated to healthcare. Her experience spans the full spectrum of equipment replacements, comprehensive renovations, and new build additions from master planning through construction administration. Allisa enjoys working with collaborative design teams to find the most pragmatic solutions for a project, and her sharp attention to detail ensures that no small issue goes unnoticed. She’s also an avid skier, tennis player, and outdoor enthusiast.

James Lacey

James joins Altus after serving a decade in the US Air Force and a decade in tech as a product designer, entrepreneur, and digital marketer. He’s a mover, a shaker, and a perpetual advocate for empowering others to believe in something bigger than themselves.

Eva Krueger

CHID, NCIDQ, IIDA

Eva is an interior designer with 16 years of experience, known for blending creativity with technical expertise to create environments that enhance performance, productivity, and user experience. She is detail-oriented and values teamwork, believing that good design can make the world a better place. As lead interior designer, Eva will focus on optimizing the quality and function of interior spaces, ensuring efficiency, comfort, and flow.

Loren Lamprecht

AIA, NCARB

Loren is nationally recognized as a leader in the planning of healthcare facilities. He has spent his entire 40-year career perfecting this healthcare expertise, while designing hundreds of projects at some of the largest and most well-known healthcare systems in the country. His resume includes master planning and designing acute care medical centers, ambulatory facilities, cancer centers, orthopedic facilities, and critical access hospitals. Loren analyzes strategic programs, departmental priorities, special needs, management objectives and operational issues to produce highly-efficient and functional plans.

Scott Nordstrom

AIA, LEED AP

Scott Nordstrom has nearly 40 years’ experience in planning, designing and illustrating a wide variety of project types including site analysis and layouts, healthcare facilities, retail, schools and renovations. He designs and illustrates the project site, floor plans, exterior and interior elevations in a cohesive way that is easily understood allowing owners to make quicker decisions about the overall direction of the project. Scott values the input from the client and the team of architects/engineers that make a project successful and thoroughly enjoys creating and building.

Chris Peterson

Chris has 20 years of healthcare design experience and partners with the Altus team to actively lead the facility planning and design effort, giving on-going problem solving to continuously ensure successful navigation through the project and into construction. As a cancer survivor, Chris has a strong passion for working on imaging projects, as they aid in the detection and treatment of the disease. He enjoys the complexity that each modality presents and especially likes creating scan rooms that ease a patient’s potential anxiety with lighting, imagery, material and paint colors.

Ryan Potter

AIA, NCARB

Ryan specializes in healthcare architecture with a diverse background in bid-build, mixed-use, residential, design-build, commercial, civic, and healthcare facilities. Known for his attention to detail and ability to model complex buildings and components, Ryan excels in collaboration with owners, consultants, and contractors. He is passionate about blending contemporary design with the traditional fabric of the community, creating spaces that enhance and enrich healing environments.

Sophia Riedmiller

Associate IIDA

Sophia graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Design with highest distinction from the College of Architecture. She has minors in both Architectural Studies and Interior Design. She joins the Altus team after completing a year-long internship in Stantec’s San Francisco office.

Doug Swartz

Doug Swartz is a registered Senior Project Architect in Altus with over 30 years’ experience in healthcare design. Over the length of his career, he has prepared contract documents on a large variety of projects. Among Doug’s many architectural specialties is his ability to develop technical drawings that enhance every project’s design.

Gabriela Wulff-Marcano

Gabriela Wulff-Marcano’s  accounting career began quite early – at age five, in fact. At this young age, Gabi received a typewriter from her father as a gift and, combined with the 10-key adding machine he had on his desk, Gabi would play “office” day in and day out. By age seven, she received yet another present from her father – her own electric cash register. In addition to occupying her time, these gifts were the foundations for what would become a life-long passion for and pursuit of numbers, as well as a career in accounting.

Gabi was born in and grew up in Venezuela; an idyllic upbringing and her spunky personality blend nicely to foster the outgoing, adventurous spirit that is evident the very first time you meet Gabi. As the youngest of eight, she and her siblings (four sisters and three brothers) spent many summers at Puerto La Cruz, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. While in college, she worked as a receptionist at one of the largest hospitals in Caracas. Today, she is proud to live and work in the United States where “total freedom” is something she treasures and does not take for granted.

The same passion she brings to her role as Altus’ Director of Accounting is also found in her personal life. Along with her husband Aquiles, daughter Clarisa and their dog Chico, Gabi enjoys exploring  – mountains, rivers, beaches or deserted islands – they are always ready to embark on another adventure together.
