About This Project
Altus was approached by the owner to provide "more critical access hospital for less money" (a direct quote). From there, a partnership began that looked forward to providing the community of Centreville, Mississippi with a much-needed replacement hospital for their completely antiquated 1950s facility at an affordable price. In order to achieve this goal, Altus incorporated years of healthcare design experience into a patent-pending design that takes advantage of money-saving design strategies and utilizes all of Altus's critical access expertise — an efficient plan designed around the community and built on the needed efficiencies of this southern rural market.
The 62,500-square-foot replacement critical access hospital features operationally efficient planning, such as a shared nurse station serving both the medical/surgical unit and the emergency department, and an expanded dietary that performs as a full-service restaurant for visitors in addition to providing patient meals.
